1970's Bathroom Update



Our main goal for this bathroom was to give it a fresh look without completely breaking the bank. We decided the best option was to avoid total demolition and work with the pre-existing elements as much as possible.


Here's what the original space looked like:

...it's the yellow floor and green walls for us. Also, please note that the before photos were taken prior to us moving in.


Let's get into the details of the update...


We kept the original cultured marble tub and tile flooring and painted them white using epoxy paint for tub and tile. For the shower space, we re-tiled the walls with white subway tile and black grout. Additionally, we added basic wood trim and painted it black for additional contrast.



For the vanity area, we opted for a custom built countertop with open storage cubbies. This option made it easy to work around the original plumbing and was much cheaper than adding cabinetry.
